Shadow stalked onto the terra. His huge form seemed to swallow the light. The last year spent traveling had wrought yet another change in him. He was no longer the mad killer of a year before. He was a lost, despairing soul that presented a tough exterior, hard as a metal shell. But one thing was the same: his fighting prowess. The kiler still lurked within. He stopped as he stepped out of the mountains and howled. His howl, rich beyond rich, told his story:his grief, his anger, and the lost soul that he now had become. Shadow let the howl die and waited for the alpha of the terra to answer.
Luna heard another howl, with a sigh she trotted the way to the newcomer. She looked around. Many were comng, she wondered why. She approached the wolf. "What's your reason for coming to my lands?" She said in a cold voice. She watched the wolf, not sitting on her haunches she waited.
Shadow looked the alpha over disdainfully. "Well, there are 2 choices." he said patiently. "One:I want to join the pack if there is one, or two: I am passing through and you would be wise not to get in my way." His narrowed icey blue eyes watched the alpha with an intentness that seemed to see your soul. He tensed, almost inperceptibly, waiting for her answer which would determine his action: travel past, join, or kill.
"Well, there is a pack, but maybe you'll just have to pass on through," She said with a sly grin. "You ever seen an evil wolf? Ever killed one?" She asked, not looking for an answer, "Well there's one 'round here and whoever joins this pack then they'll have to help kill the evil 'round here." She said again. "Now don't get your hopes up brute, never know." She said with another grin.
Shadow yawned. He hated it when wolves wasted their time on idle words. "Well, it sounds like my kind of pack. Life's no fun without some fighting. But that's just my oppinion. So,alpha, if you will tell me whether or not I can join, we can stop sitting and wasting the day."
She looked at him your the one sitting!! she thought. "Well your allowedto join," Luna said. She looked at the wolf once more then turned around. She started to walk away, not really caring if the brute followed or not. She looked up at the sky, the moon would be full soon. She glanced at the wolf then back where she was aheading. What are the others doing? She thought.
Shadow followed Luna, thinking he'd join, for awhile at least. His muscles rippled under his black coat as he followed the others. He laughed silently as he saw how many new members the pack seemed to be geting.
Luna turned, looking at him. She shoke her head and turned ahead again. "There are a lot of new members, I was thinking why. This dosen't happen every once in a while you know," she said in her regular cold voice.
Shadow shrugged. "Strange things happen.I'll join, just so you know." He wasn't sure though. With him, you could never tell if he was loyal, or not. His feelings and thoughts were locked in a vault, and his past...you will never know.
Luna smirked. She stopped on a hill, though it didn't seem like one unless you looked below. She looked down, where the meadow outsretched and you could see the mountains and everything.
